Direction Not Speed

I saw this drawing and it’s a great reminder for me.  Along with my obsessive need to keep things in control… I am also a speed freak.  Nothing ever seems to go fast enough.  It’s always about getting more done and going faster.  But the reminder that focusing on the direction not the speed is a helpful reminder for me.  Am I focused on where we are going more than how fast we get there?  Because at the end of the day, the faster you go down the wrong road, the further you will go in the wrong direction. Progress has much less to do with speed and everything to do with the direction.

So, take a moment this week to look at your compass and not your speedometer.  Are you going in the right direction?  Do you need to adjust your course?  Does your direction still excite you?

Minor deviations in your path can take you far off course.

“Success isn’t that difficult; it merely involves taking twenty steps in a singular direction. Most people take one step in twenty directions.” - Benjamin Hardy

YOUR REACH SHOULD ALWAYS EXCEED YOUR GRASP

Social media isn’t free. It costs your attention and is sold to advertisers. Be mindful of how much you spend with them

“Attention is the beginning of devotion” - Mary Oliver (distraction and care or love are incompatible. Be mindful of the distraction you allow when around the ones you love lest if reflect your lack of devotion to them)
