This quote and clip resonated with me this week because I found myself allowing an external circumstance to influence how I was thinking, feeling, and acting.  No matter how intentional you are, sometimes situations can creep up in your life, that can take you from a mindset of in control by choice, to a mindset of drifting and worrying by chance.  I realized how I was feeling was a direct result of my choice of mindset and actions, and neither were moving me closer to who I want to be.

There is nothing more powerful than our ability and freedom to choose. Especially when we use it to make a difference.  Whether you are wanting to be a wonder woman mom, an over-the-top provider for your family, or just have a healthy body…. your choices are exactly what will get you there.  So, choose wisely.

 

5 Ways to Make Superman Choices

How you think: (the way you choose to look at a situation)

“Everything hangs on a man’s thinking… a man is as unhappy as he thinks he is” - Seneca

How you frame somethings or think about something will always drive your emotions, feelings, and ultimately your behavior.   Negative thinking breeds negative emotions.  You can either look at something as an obstacle or an opportunity.  The choice is yours.

 

Your attitude: (the way you choose to react to a situation)

If someone cuts you off in traffic and you choose to have an indignant and angry attitude; and then you rush to flip him off, honk the horn and scream at the person, you will sink deeper into the anger rabbit hole.  Choosing a positive reaction will help you win and move you closer to being the person you want to be. You get to choose your attitude no matter the situation.

 

What you do: (our daily actions).

Our daily actions are a vote towards or away from the person we want to become.  If we want to be fit, then our daily choices around eating healthy or completing physical activity will take us closer or further away from that reality.  If you want to be a top producer, you need to make outbound calls every day.  Choose to invest in and create daily habits and actions that support who you want to be.

 

Hard over easy:

Everyone wants the good stuff in life, but most people aren’t willing to make the hard choices to get there.  Don’t take the easy way out make the hard choices.


Your words: (can be a weapon or a difference maker)

Your words may be momentary, but their intentions are momentous. (Adapted from the book Greenlights) Choose your words to carefully reflect the person you want to be.  Don’t let momentary spite, envy or emotions dictate who you are... choose to be the person you want to be.
