Cheers to New Experiences

The book the 12 hour walk inspired me this week.  As a result, we have been doing a few things out of the norm this weekend.  We went to an art show, listened to an outdoor symphony, had a beer with my burger for lunch, and later this week… we are even going to take an off the grid day for a 12+ hour walk.  I would highly recommend this process not only to spark creativity but also to boost your mental health!  CHEERS!

Ideas to Boost Personal Growth, Mental Health, and Creativity:

  1. What are 2 or 3 things you can do this month that you’ve never done before.

  2. What concerts, art shows, seminars, workshops or other enriching experiences can you attend?

  3. Think of 2 or 3 things you can do to strengthen the relationships that mean the most to you? And go do them

  4. Take a 12 hour Walk (see below)

Top Quotes this Week:

  • “We see the world not as it is but as we are.” - Anais Nin (perspective)

  • “A lion runs the fastest when he is hungry.” – Salman Khan.

  • “A hungry dog hunts best. A hungrier dog hunts even better

  • “A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor” -Franklin Roosevelt

Notes that Resonated

Mindset:

  • Our brains will see more of what we are focused on

  • We become what we think about

  • If you think you are headed into a decline so will you

  • A shifting market means you have opportunities you can seize

Growth:

  • I want the growth of your wisdom to outpace my birthdays.

  • What impact are you achieving beyond yourself?

  • Success is exponential not spontaneous

  • If you get better at what you do you can command more of the pie

  • Growth happens outside the comfort zone

Time:

  • Average American watches between 4 hours of TV (according to Neilson), 30 min of Youtube, and 2( to 6) hours on social media (depending on your age range).  We do have enough time it just needs to be used wisely

  • Cut out the unnecessary to achieve you goals and passions

  • We have 168 hours a week what do you do with them?

  • Did you know that the entire series of GoT (Game of Thornes) is 70 hours and 14 min? (and no this doesn't mean you shouldn’t occasionally enjoy entertainment 🙂)

Other Stuff:

Things read:

Inspired by the podcast lasted below I read the book “12 Hour Walk” - by Colin O’Brady

The book is great to listen to in an audio book format. Collin is a great story teller and his action pack inspirational stories really come to life as he vividly recounts his personal struggles and thrilling adventures. Listening to his stories would push anyone out of a funk, give them a swift kick in the ass, take steps to start living their best life and maybe even inspire them to literally summit Everest.

This is about having a fixed mindset or a growth mindset and not accepting things for how they are.

Welcome all the stages of your life… and make sure you always know what you want out of this stage of you life. You only get to do it once 🙂
