Pushing Past the Comfort & Adjust your Sails

“You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust your sails” - Thomas Monson

Creating Success in ANY CONDITIONS:

For all of us, this is a season of growth and change. 2023 will be different than any other year we have ever experienced. The market is adjusting, and we are all having to stretch outside of our comfort zone to adapt to it. The upside to this situation is that all growth happens in times of adversity, pain, change. Taking time to reflect on what this market makes possible and on what we need to be doing differently will really pay off this year. To be successful this year it’s all about getting out of our comfort zones/ ruts and adjust our sails so we can absolutely reach our desired destination no matter what the market throws at us.

Key questions to ask:

Where can you grow? What can you do differently? Where are you playing it safe or not going the extra mile and what can you do to push yourself? In this season you need to focus on making your palms sweat again and challenging yourself to push to the other side of easy.

How about a Challenge?

You can’t become great without being even just a little bit uncomfortable. Pushing past what you know or doing more than the things that are easy lay-ups for you is what’s going to create the results. Where do you need to challenge yourself this week? This month or this year? Create a 30-day challenge for yourself where you specifically create a habit of focusing on one or two things that help you push past the comfort zone so you can grow.

Make a list of all the things you know you should or could be doing.  AND THEN GET AFTER IT!!!

Creating content, public speaking, networking events, time blocking, sales calls, working on new projects, new workout routines, more time getting to know your children or spouse…. Where have you become stale… where do you need a push and what can you do differently?

Areas to consider: Spiritual, Family, Finances, Daily Routines, Mental Health, Fun, Fitness, Learning, Adventure, Mentoring, Giving Back

Housing Market News:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLLhBSoVrvk

What’s going on in the housing market? Half the articles are claiming that the housing crash is cancelled, and the other half are saying it’s the calm before the storm and the market is going to tank worse than 2008. Which is it? What is the Fed going to do and when can we expect things to go back to normal? The truth of the matter is we are at a tipping point in the market. The better than decades jobs report, reduced inflation, and mortgage applications increasing are all pointing towards a better-than-expected landing. But something must give. Housing prices can’t continue to rise at the current pace without creating a catastrophe for the market and home buyers in the long run. Current pricing growth is not sustainable because it has dramatically outpaced wage growth. The bottom-line is homes are still selling (even if it’s at a slower rate), inventory is still tight (keeping demand in line), builders are slowing their production, price growth is moderating, and the FED is watching everything carefully before the next rate hike (which is currently expected to be another .25% increase). We still have a long road ahead of us before things begin to normalize but the market is not as bleak as many expected.

For a non-alcoholic treat try:

1 ounce of squeezed Melogold grapefruit juice

1-2 ounces of simple syrup

4 ounces of topo chico or Tehaucan (or other sparkling water)

add a little muddled basil or mint for extra depth and more of a cocktail feel
