A Real Friend

“A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.” — Walter Winchell

I came across this photo this week and it reminded me of the so many beautiful people I have built relationships with over the last 20 years of my career.   They bring joy and purpose to everything I do.

Friendship is one of those things that brings brightness into the world and makes all the hard work worth it.  Invest in and surround yourself with good people that you can pour into and will pour into you.  Those true friends refresh the soul and fill your life with color.

Who are the people you are investing in? Where can you be a better friend?

Mortgage & Market Update

Lots of moving parts this week but most data released had a positive impact on rates. Key highlights:

1.     The S&P posted its worst month since Sept. 2023

2.     Jobs report came is softer than expected

3.     Fed Comments: Powell doesn’t see “stagflation” (I don’t get his take on this one), the Fed is slowing it balance sheet reduction, and doesn’t think a rate hike is “appropriate at this time”. All good data points for rates.

These factors are now leading to the markets to be pricing in a 42% chance of zero interest rate cuts in 2024. This will continue to put pressure on rates to the next level of resistance around 7%.

Interesting data on housing prices: Re:venture Consulting (@kobeissi letter)

Will increased inventory help solve this problem and reduce the cost or will homeowners have to lower prices to get homes sold?

  3. Daniel: 2:21 He takes away the power of kings and gives their power to new kings. He gives wisdom to those who are wise and knowledge to those who understand. (Great lessons on pride and faith in this book)

I’ve recently started a journey to increase my mobility and physical strength to age well be healthier longer.   Recently my journey has led me to understanding the importance of foot strength and proper shoes. Apparently, the number 1 indicator of older people sustaining serious long-term injury is poor foot strength.
