New Habit
A couple of weeks ago I read the book "How to take Smart Notes". This book at its core is about leveraging the Zettlekasten method for taking notes. But in reality is about helping you build a creative toolbox for learning, thinking, writing, and storing knowledge. It basically teaches you to create a second brain or external memory system that can help you organize your thoughts and creating new discoveries by identifying unique connections.
Top 3 Quotes from the Book:
"if you can’t say it clearly, you don't understand it"
"creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people about how they did it they feel guilty because they didn't do it they just saw something." -Steve Jobs
"The trick is not breaking old habits but starting new ones that replace the old ones"
I found this book by Watching Ali's Youtube channel on his 2020 favorite books list video. Ali is a doctor in the UK that focuses on helping student get through medical school as well as teaching productivity methods and tools. His channel is interesting if you like learning new productivity tactics.
After reading this book I started a new habit of writing down and organizing the things I read or key thoughts that resonated with me throughout the week. The weekly notes have kind of become the best of the best from what I read or learned that week. After doing this for a couple of weeks I realized that this was helping fulfill some of what I used to get from my Building Champions Master mind group.
So I thought hey if I’m already doing the research and learning these cool things maybe I should share them with you. Some of the things I write down may not resonate with you but other items might send you on a path that helps you learn, grow or generate new ideas.
I will be sending my notes on Sunday’s. Feel free to ignore them if they don’t provide you any value or ask questions if something resonates.
