Pushing Past the SUCK: The Power of Internal Drive
When it comes to doing hard things, there’s one thing that separates those who quit from those who push through: internal drive. If you’ve got it, you won’t quit. It’s that simple.
We all face moments that suck—situations that test our limits, make us doubt ourselves, and tempt us to give up. But here’s the truth: if you truly want to succeed, nothing will stop you. If you don’t have that fire inside, anything and everything will.
People often quit when they start to suffer or fail. They throw in the towel when things get tough, but those who have that intrinsic will to carry on…. They just shrug their shoulders, advance forward into the cold water and keep going. They push past the suck. It’s not about being the smartest, the most talented, or the strongest. Winning comes down to one thing: Do you want it bad enough? If you don’t, just about anything will stop you. Any excuse, any obstacle any sucky situation.
How to do it?
1. Stop focusing on how hard things are—quit thinking about the “suck.” Instead, focus on the doing. What do you need to do right now? Just do it. The sooner, the better. You’ll often find that dreading the task is far worse than doing it. Get it done, get it over with, and move on.
2. Choose hard things that benefit you. Know why you’re doing them and remember that the one true predictor of who will succeed is not talent or skill—it’s the sheer will to keep going.
Try it the next time you are doing something hard. Don’t think about how hard it is or how much you hate it just keep advancing. Keep moving forward. PUSH PAST THE SUCK!
If you’ve got that drive, nothing will stop you. What suck do you need to push past this week?

Market Update
You can't make this stuff up!
In what feels like an economic plot twist no one saw coming, inflation may be back on the rise despite the Fed’s recent victory lap. Here’s what’s happening:
Core CPI inflation is up for the first time in 18 months.
Headline PPI inflation is rising again — the first jump since June.
Last month’s PPI inflation? Yeah, it was revised HIGHER.
Core PPI inflation has increased for two straight months.
Last month’s Core PPI? You guessed it — also revised HIGHER.
So how exactly did the Fed declare victory over inflation again? 🤔
Let’s rewind a bit: The Fed made headlines last month with that 50-basis point rate cut—the first in a while. But did they jump the gun? The reasoning was to "support the labor market," despite claiming we're at maximum employment. But what’s the real motive here?
💭 Some say the rate cut was designed to reduce the government’s cost of debt. Others think it might have been to serve a political agenda ahead of the election.
And now, we are seeing the drama unfold:
Unemployment filings hit 258,000 this week, above the expected 230,000.
Inflation is back on the rise.
The September jobs report could get revised sharply lower, further exposing the Fed's precarious situation: rising inflation + rising unemployment = economic double trouble.
We will now be looking towards the next Fed meeting. The odds of no cut in November are rising fast. Because they may have jumped the gun, it’s highly possible that 50 bps cut might be the last we see this year.
Is the Fed's pivot over before it even began? 🧐 Shelter in the core CPI did report lower and the Fed’s favorite measure for inflation PCE will report later this month, so let's see how this unfolds. But one thing's for sure: the path to stable prices is anything but smooth. Be cautious when locking and pricing your forwards. Always stay on top of economic news releases, the bond market has been hypersensitive to news releases, and we expect larger tradable swings to continue.
Stay tuned—this rollercoaster isn’t over yet! 🎢
