Back to Center

With all that’s on everyone’s plate right now it is more important than ever to come back to center, find our compass, and focus on what matters most.

What's your compass-

"Don't be on your deathbed someday having squandered your one chance at life, full of regret because you pursued little distractions instead of dreaming big. Know your personal philosophy of what makes you happy and what's worth doing." - Derek Sivers

Find the joy in the day to day and focusing on what matters most….

Learning to love the race, the process of the race, and the journey is where the happiness comes from…. Where does your joy and your fulfillment start…. When are you most happy?  Don’t get fixated on the outcomes.  Choose continuously to focus and find the fulfillment and enjoyment in the day to day.

What do you love about what you do whether you are at the top or not… focus on that and results will follow

“No Artist can work simply for results; he must also like the work of getting them.”  - Robert Farrar Capon

Other Notes that Resonated:

  • You're attitude creates your reality

  • Focus on the Journey over Destination

  • Pay attention to what you give vs. what you take

  • Better sausage making process leads to better sausage... where can you improve the process

  • If we don't try and prove ourselves wrong others will do it for us

  • "The more you sweat in peace the less you bleed in war"

  • How much time do you spend sharpening your skills and practicing your craft to not crash and burn on a sales call? What are you doing to make things second nature?

  • Every solid performance has 1000 hours of practice behind it

  • Find the golden hour in your day... When is the time of the day you are most productive. Do the most important stuff at that time

  • Failure is always an option... don't ignore it

  • What gets written down gets done

  • Be the leader of gratitude

  • Choose your work carefully. Doing low priority tasks efficiently does not move the needle

Reading:

"And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever." - Exodus 14:13

Do not fear, stand still, quiet your mind and your mouth, look to God and be patient… the lord will deliver you from your battle
